The Game Changing Power of a Buyers Agent
Something I have been noticing a lot in my social media feed lately is the growing number of women over 50 choosing to remain single and embracing the freedom that comes with it. They are building independent lives, making their own decisions, travelling, pursuing careers and interests, and enjoying the peace that comes from not having to navigate somebody else’s moods, expectations or emotions.
I think it is fantastic.
But there is another part of independence that deserves just as much attention: making significant financial decisions with confidence.
Buying property is one of the biggest financial decisions most of us will ever make, and when you are buying alone, there is nobody sitting beside you saying, “Are you sure this is a good idea?” It is very easy to become emotionally attached to a beautiful home, convince yourself that you have finally found “the one” and then stretch beyond the budget you originally set for yourself.
This is where I believe a good Buyers Agent can be genuinely game changing.
My role is not simply to find you a property. I have a fiduciary duty to my buyer, which means my responsibility is to represent your interests throughout the acquisition process. I bring an independent perspective to what can otherwise become a highly emotional and overwhelming experience, helping you remain focused on the bigger picture rather than getting caught up in the excitement of the purchase.
More importantly, the right property should support the life you are trying to create. It should not leave you financially stressed or wondering whether you have made the right decision six months after settlement. It should fit within a carefully considered strategy that takes into account your budget, your lifestyle, your future plans and, where appropriate, your long term financial position.
