1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and provide information to website owners.
2. How We Use Cookies
BuyersAgents.com.au uses cookies to:
- Enable essential website functionality (authentication, security, session management)
- Remember your preferences and settings
- Analyse how you use our platform to improve user experience
- Deliver relevant content and advertising
- Monitor website performance and diagnose technical issues
3. Types of Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website to function properly. They enable core functionality such as security, authentication, and access to secure areas. The website cannot function properly without these cookies.
Performance Cookies
These cookies collect information about how visitors use our website, such as which pages are visited most often and if error messages are received. This helps us improve how our website works.
Functionality Cookies
These cookies allow our website to remember choices you make (such as your username, language, or region) and provide enhanced, more personal features.
Analytics Cookies
We use analytics services such as Google Analytics and Ahrefs Analytics to understand how users interact with our platform. These cookies collect anonymous information about user behaviour, including pages visited, time spent on site, and navigation patterns.
Two analytics cookies are our own. While we test versions of the top of our Pro Profile page, opening that page sets a cookie for 30 days that holds one letter: which version you were shown, so you see the same one each time. It goes with the sign-up steps we count, and onto your account if you create one. It holds nothing about you. While we test two versions of the first screen of our sign-up page, opening that page sets a second cookie that works the same way.
Advertising Cookies
These cookies may be used to deliver relevant advertisements and track advertising campaign performance. They remember that you have visited a website and this information may be shared with other organisations, such as advertisers.
One advertising cookie is our own. When you open a public page through a campaign link, or a link carrying Facebook's click id, it records for 30 days which campaign and ad brought you, the page you landed on, and Meta's click and browser ids. If you book a walkthrough with us or create an account in that time, the booking or account records where it came from and the Meta ids go with our report of that act to Meta, as our privacy policy describes. It is never set on signed-in pages.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on our website are placed by third-party services, including:
- Google Analytics: To analyse website traffic and user behaviour
- Ahrefs Analytics: To track website performance and SEO metrics
- Stripe: For secure payment processing
- Supabase: For authentication and database functionality
- YouTube (Google): Video playback, once you press play on an embedded video
- Storylane: The interactive product demo on our product pages
- Meta: The advertising pixel described in our privacy policy, and a server-side copy of two acts (a walkthrough booked with us, an account created) that a browser setting does not reach
- Cloudflare: Turnstile, which tells people from bots on our public forms
These third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to review.
5. Managing Cookies
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can:
- View what cookies are stored on your device
- Delete cookies
