The City of Gold Coast built an artificial reef in 2019, from 60,000 tonnes of rock placed 270 metres off Nineteenth Avenue, and says it has improved Palm Beach's resilience to erosion. Ask the council what applies to a beachfront or waterfront address.

The council's flood depth map shows whether a property is in a flood affected area in an infrequent flood, and its newest citywide flood map is for flood risk awareness only. Check the address on the flood depth map before you buy.
Palm Beach State School, on Nineteenth Avenue, has an equidistant catchment and an enrolment capacity of 1,090 students. Palm Beach-Currumbin State High School, on Thrower Drive, has a negotiated catchment and a capacity of 2,659. Check the address against the catchment if you are counting on a place.
We found no train, light rail or ferry station in Palm Beach; Translink buses stop on the Gold Coast Highway. On 22 June 2026 the state government announced The GC Surfer, a planned metro-style service from Robina to Coolangatta, and named no stop in Palm Beach.
